Reciting the Qurʾān, reading it with the aim of understanding, and reflecting upon it are among the most significant acts of worship. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who was constantly engaged with the Qurʾān, would increase this engagement even further during Ramaḍān.

Completing at least one full recitation of the Qurʾān from beginning to end during Ramaḍān is a commendable and well-established practice, and—as mentioned above—it is in harmony with the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. However, there is no specific act of worship defined as a distinct “Ramaḍān khatm.” Accordingly, rather than being preoccupied with matters such as starting a khatm before Ramaḍān or finishing it afterward, greater importance should be placed on remaining consistently engaged with the Word of our Lord, increasing that engagement during Ramaḍān, reflecting upon it, and—if one does not know Arabic—seeking to understand it through a translation or commentary, striving to benefit fully from its spiritual atmosphere.

Completing at least one full recitation during Ramaḍān is highly commendable, and if possible, one should also seek appropriate means to increase this recitation further.
