In Surah Al-An’am, verse 145, the Quran states that pig meat is forbidden because it is impure. The word “rijs” (impurity) used in this verse refers not only to the meat but also to the entire pig, including its hair, nails, fat, and skin. Therefore, all parts of the pig are considered haram (forbidden). Additionally, since the pig is impure, selling any part of it is also prohibited. The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not allow the pig’s fat to be used even for lighting lamps or lubricating ships. (Bukhari, Buyu’, 112)
