In Islam, harming one’s body is considered a betrayal of the trust given by Allah, as preserving life and health is a fundamental obligation. Cigarettes are known to contain harmful substances that cause addiction, cancer, and heart diseases, equating their use to a form of slow suicide.
E-cigarettes, although marketed as alternatives, have been banned by many health authorities, including the Ministry of Health in various countries. There is no conclusive clinical evidence proving their safety or effectiveness in aiding smoking cessation. Unless e-cigarettes are scientifically approved as a legitimate means to quit smoking, they are treated similarly to traditional cigarettes. Consequently, their use, purchase, and sale are deemed impermissible (haram) in Islam.
