Using face cream does not invalidate ablution as long as it is fully absorbed by the skin and does not prevent water from reaching it. However, if it forms a layer on the skin that blocks the passage of water, the ablution becomes invalid.
Water-resistant sunscreens are evaluated in the same manner. If the product creates a persistent, water-repellent layer on the skin, it should be removed before performing ablution. Even after the stated duration of water resistance has passed, if the cream still prevents water from reaching the skin, it must be thoroughly cleansed prior to ablution.
