The majority of scholars (jumhur) have agreed that the pig is inherently impure and thus entirely forbidden based on the Quranic verse: “Indeed, it is an impurity” (Al-An’am 6:145). Accordingly, not only the meat, but also its fat, brain, bones, intestines, milk, skin, and other parts are considered unlawful (haram). Furthermore, any form of benefit from the pig is deemed impermissible. Scholars such as Fakhr al-Din al-Razi, Ibn Arabi, Ibn Hazm, Ibn Juzayy, and Ibn Rushd have stated that there is consensus (ijma) on this issue.
