If a woman miscarries a fetus whose limbs—such as hair or nails—have become discernibly formed, and she experiences bleeding thereafter, she is considered to be in a state of postpartum bleeding (nifās). In that case, her fast is invalidated.
However, if the miscarried fetus had not reached a stage in which its limbs were distinguishable, postpartum bleeding is not established; therefore, the fast is not invalidated.
